Duffy The Disney Bear Coming Overseas

Apparently the success overseas has been great. Duffy The Disney Bear, a popular walk around character (and teddy bear) at the Tokyo Disneyland Resort has been around for some time in Toyko, but has never really made it into the American parks. Until now. The huggable stuffed bear is coming to stores at the parks very soon, and even the character in person will be making daily schedule meet and greets at Epcot starting this October. Many are very excited about this news, as Duffy is a pretty cute bear. But other aren't as thrilled, and thinks the American parks shouldn't take things from overseas. Comment your thoughts!

No New Country For A While?

Epcot's World Showcase originally opened with 9 countries, and has since then added Morocco and Norway in 1982. So many are asking, 'When is a new World Showcase Country coming'? Well, no one knows for sure. But some say; never. Or at least; not for a while.

Rumors have been spilling all over numerous sites, reporting that Disney is working on a new Country to be added to the famed Epcot World Showcase, a section of the park spotlighting world culture and cuisine. A possibility has been in between the France and Morocco pavilions, and the country would be Spain. But this has been a rumor for some time now; and no announcement has been made yet.

We looked up exactly where the possible new country could be on Google Maps; and didn't find much room. Or we might have found a small country.

Disney Public Relations had reportedly denied any rumors of a new country, as of now; as World Showcase currently is focusing on new restaurants such as Italy's Via Napoli and the La Hacienda de San Angel at Mexico.

Dis Characters Coming To MK?

Ever since it's a small world at Disneyland was updated not too long ago with Disney characters (such as Peter Pan in England, Aladdin in Egypt, Lilo in Hawaii, etc.), people have been wondering if the Magic Kingdom was next to get these characters in the classic Fantasyland Boat Ride. The attraction has been closed since August 1st, and isn't set to re-open again for a month or so, which leaves some people wondering 'Is the update to get Disney Characters?' Disney reports it is down for refurb to fix the queue, but that doesn't mean they will spoil everything. WDW MouseTales found some merchandise that might confirm Characters coming to IASW:

First, this miniature snow globe features native characters already in IASW, but also has Peter Pan, who is not in the MK version of the attraction.

Also, this magnet features a bunch of Disney Characters, most who of which are featured in the Disneyland version of the ride.

The same design on a coffee mug:

So after seeing these images of new merchandise, many wonder and worry if the refurb will be used to include new Disney Characters. Some say that the refurb isn't long enough to include new dolls, as the Disneyland refurb was a lengthy fix (also used to totally refine the water depth of the canal, however). But we never know, it could be true.

There are some reports that this is just merchandise that was once at Disneyland, and just shipped to Florida and changed to 'Magic Kingdom' script on it, as reportedly there was Matterhorn merchandise sold as Expedition Everest merchandise. We never know.

Fixed Plans For Fantasyland?

Since plans for a completely updated Fantasyland expansion at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, some have been unhappy with the new attractions and meet and greets in this expansion. Ever since the $300 million dollar expansion plan was revealed at the D23 Expo last September, people have been arguing that 'there is too much princess' and 'not enough for boys'. Luckily for some, Tom Staggs has heard you. And he has agreed.

Most of the expansion is covered by a new forest.

Gaston's Tavern is a rumored Beauty and the Beast quick service restaurant.

A leaked blueprint of such updated plans shows that the rumored meet and greets with Aurora and Cinderlla are completely scratched, as are plans for Pixie Hollow.

But the plans also feature exciting, new plans. Such as the Snow White Mine Coaster Ride. Rumors for such an attraction have been floating around with the new Fantasyland for quite some time, and it looks like this rumor could turn into a reality.

Also, Dumbo has a very large new area in the expansion, overtaking most of the current Mickey's Toontown Fair area. This new area includes Dumbo's Big Top, which has a second Dumbo attraction, and a new tent with interactive games and more while guests wait to ride. A new Casey Jr. themed Food Stand and Shop is also pictured.

While all of this could be fake, we do know that the plans have been altered some how, but we will just have to wait and see what the final version looks like in a matter of years.
